DIVERS were sent on a grim mission to find the severed arm of a young German tourist who lost it in a boating accident. Doctors were hopeful that if the missing limb was found in time off the coast of Majorca. The extremity was found on the sea bed off the popular beach of El Trenc but surgeons have ruled out the chance of reconnecting it after it was left submerged over night. The 20-year-old man lost his arm whilst he was diving in the ocean and a boat went over the top of him. The propeller is believed to have made contact with his body and his arm slicing it clean off. Divers with the Special Group of Underwater Activities (GEAS) of the Civil Guard spent an entire evening searching for the limb before calling off the mission. They restarted it the following day finally finding the arm was found among some sea plants.
